Join a well regarded Canberra law firm and develop your career within a supportive Wills & Estate practice Your new companyThis established Canberra law firm has a strong reputation for providing high quality, practical legal advice to individuals, families and businesses. With an experienced team and a strong local presence, the firm offers a professional and collaborative environment where junior lawyers are supported to build their technical capability, confidence and client relationships.Due to continued growth, an opportunity is available for a Lawyer with approximately 1-3 years' post admission experience to join the firm's Wills & Estates practice.
Your new roleWorking alongside experienced practitioners, you will gain exposure to a broad range of wills and estates matters and have the opportunity to manage matters with an increasing level of autonomy as your experience develops.Your responsibilities may include:
- Drafting wills, powers of attorney and other estate planning documents
- Assisting clients with estate planning and succession matters
- Probate and estate administration matters
- Working on contested estates and estate disputes where required
- Undertaking legal research and preparing advice and correspondence
- Liaising directly with clients, beneficiaries and other stakeholders
- Managing files and progressing matters from initial instructions through to completion
- Supporting senior practitioners on more complex matters
- Admission as an Australian legal practitioner
- Approximately 1-3 years' PQE
- Experience in wills and estates, succession law or a related private client practice
- Strong drafting, research and written communication skills
- A professional and empathetic approach to client engagement
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities
- A genuine interest in developing a career within wills and estates
