- Attorney: Family, Probate and Civil (Remote, Kentucky)
Description
I'm Elton Johnson, managing member of Johnson Legal PLLC in Elizabethtown. This isn't a traditional law firm. It runs on an AI system that drafts every matter, so lawyers spend their time reviewing and deciding. We serve clients across Kentucky on flat fees, and I'm looking for family-court and probate lawyers based in the Louisville, Lexington, and Bowling Green regions.
In the thirty days ending Thursday, October 8, 2026, the firm's statewide ads generated 168 new calls and messages, more than half about family or probate matters. The firm pays for the ads, and I plan to raise the budget as lawyers join.
You'd own your cases: family court, estate administration and probate, guardianships and civil matters. First calls are by phone, from anywhere in Kentucky. Court would be in your region, including rural counties, and hearings outside your region would go to another lawyer in the firm. Work from wherever you like in Kentucky. No book of business needed.
The system drafts with built-in verification and accuracy checks, pulling the law from primary sources. You wouldn't spend your day on intake or drafting from a blank page, saving a lot of time for review, judgment, decisions, and the human check. If you'd prefer to go a different way than recommended, the system would flag the matter, and I would review what's flagged. Client calls, emails, and texts would run through the firm and be kept, with calls recorded and transcribed. I've looked, and I haven't found another firm in Kentucky that runs a general practice this way.
You'd practice inside the firm on a written agreement, paid from the fees on your own matters. On what clients have paid per full engagement so far, a full-time caseload works out to about $100,000 a year, before taxes and your own costs. That's a projection, not a promise. The first year pays less, but there's no cap on what you can earn. You decide your caseload.
Along with the ads, the firm pays for the AI system, the phone line and intake, and the books and trust account. You'd cover your bar dues, your CLE, and your own phone, computer and workspace. No office to rent and no staff to pay. That's the idea behind the firm: lower costs, so the lawyer makes more and clients get a fee they can pay.
Interested? Three unpaid steps, about three hours in all: a written introduction to the firm with questions, a short review of a mock file, then a video call with me. Apply with a resume, where you live, the courts you appear in, and whether you'd keep another position. I read every application myself, and you'll hear back within two business days.
Requirements
You need a Kentucky license in good standing and court experience, with hearings you handled yourself. The drafting here runs on AI, and you don't need experience with it. We'll teach you the system.
